We are experiencing a dangerous decline in nature globally. This is exacerbating the climate crisis, undermining food and water security and putting humanity and planetary stability at risk.
We have until the end of the decade to reverse the trajectory of nature loss. Transformational change is achievable if we act decisively through a whole-of-government, whole-of-society approach from local communities to global initiatives. UNEP is committed to fostering harmony with nature in alignment with the Global Biodiversity Framework, leveraging the integrity of terrestrial, freshwater and marine ecosystems to enhance social resilience and drive progress towards a sustainable future.
Our work on nature action supports Multilateral Environmental Agreements and is carried out through public-private partnerships, often involving networks, centres and programmes.
