At the first part of the first session of the ad hoc open-ended working group on a science-policy panel to contribute further to the sound management of chemicals and waste and to prevent pollution (OEWG 1.1), the group elected ten officers (listed below) to be part of its Bureau, in accordance with Rule 18 of the Rules of Procedure of the United Nations Environment Assembly, which it agreed to apply mutatis mutandis to its work.

At the resumed part of the first session (OEWG 1.2), Gudi Alkemade (Netherlands) was elected Chair of the ad hoc open-ended working group on a science-policy panel to contribute further to the sound management of chemicals and waste and to prevent pollution.
